Karna Lake in Karnal is a hidden gem that unfolded its beauty as I passed by on a bus journey. The picturesque lake, surrounded by lush greenery, instantly captured my attention. Its tranquil waters mirrored the vibrant hues of the sky, creating a mesmerizing scene that compelled me to take a moment and soak in the serenity. The lakeside promenade, adorned with walking paths and seating areas, offered a perfect respite for weary travelers. As the bus meandered along the road skirting the lake, I couldn't help but admire the well-maintained gardens and the sense of calm that pervaded the surroundings. The lake seemed to be a hub of activity, with families enjoying boat rides and picnics along the banks. The gentle breeze carried the refreshing scent of nature, enhancing the overall experience. The view was accentuated by the distant hills, creating a picturesque backdrop that added to the allure of Karna Lake. Though my time at the lake was fleeting, it left a lasting impression, making me yearn for a more extended visit to fully appreciate its beauty and tranquility. Karna Lake in Karnal is undoubtedly a hidden oasis that beckons travelers to pause and immerse themselves in the scenic embrace of nature.

Great place for picknick spot … although all the area of karnal is clean but this place also looks very clean and airy … greenery surrounded it all over this lake is full of fishes bucks tortillas ducks …. Many ancient Vedic acharya statues are situated hear all made up of bronze … in between the pond a curve shape house is available between the lake there are a lot of bats are hanging upon the trees that thing I first ever saw … clean and cold breez are flowing here… it is situated in front of DAV public school … only 1.2 ~1.4 km away from karnal bus stand and only 400~500 m away from NH44 highway you can easily go there by foot …..

Karna Lake is a major tourist attraction in the Karnal district of Haryana. It is located at a distance of 125 km from both Chandigarh and Delhi, thus serving as a midway halt while traveling between the two cities on the famous Grand Trunk Road. Folklore has it that Karna, a famous character from Indian history, who played a major role in the war of Mahabharat, used to bathe in this lake. It was at this spot that he gave away his protective armor to Indra, the Godfather of Arjuna, Karna’s arch-enemy. It is surmised that the city of Karnal derives its name from Karna-Taal, which translates to Karna Lake. That may also be the reason for Karnal to be called the City of Karna in local parlance.

Very nice place to visit with family and friends. Lake is large. A lot of ducks and fish are there. EV Charging station available here. A restaurant cum bar maintained by Haryana tourism is also there. Well maintained park with swings, sitting areas and couple friendly points. Boating is available at reasonable prices. Going to karna lake is a total wastage of time. The lake lacks cleanliness though you can do boating. Hardly any item mentioned in the long list displayed outside the fast food joint is actually available. The whole place is very unkempt and you feel there is just nobody to look after it. Noone seems to be bothered. Being under state tourism department such utter neglect is very disappointing and it is strongly recommended not to visit the spot and waste your time

Karan lake is good place to visit with family for a short trip and you will have a great lunch , dinner options here and the boating areas so good hair you will try different types of boats and if you are with kids they will find amazing fun there the park is also very good so you can do picnic here with Lake view and the quack quack of duck so the kids will play with them. And no tension of parking is totally free ... Must please to visit if you are going through this area
